【August 1996: Breakdown】/故事大纲
Did a story breakdown for WKW today----and turned it into as good a synopsis as I could. It looks a little feeble in this form----few ‘motivations’,little apparent action and no sub-plot. Thank God we’re all selfassured and intuitive enough to believe something interesting will eventually evolve. It reads like this:
今天和王家卫一起做了故事分析，做到我所能做到的最好。形式上看起来有些弱----没什么“动机”，没有明显的动作,金霏读书阁，没有细部情节,孔子读书阁。感谢老天，我们自我感觉良好,精彩读书阁，相信最终可以形成有趣的东西。故事大概是这样的：
The blue/green magnificence of the Iguazu Waterfall. Pull back to reveal the image is in fact a souvenir lampshape by a messy bed in a tacky love hotel. Two silhouettes overshadow the falls and the desolate room.
伊瓜苏瀑布蓝绿交映的宏伟景象。拉远景，原来是一个纪念台灯，放在一张床边，场景在一个破旧的情侣旅馆。两个人影倒映在房间和瀑布上。
A red convertible crosses the brilliant,white expanse of the Salta salt flats,just this side of the Bolivian border. Tony and Leslie are loving and partying their way worth. At noon on September 23(the vernal equinox) they cross the Tropic of Carpricorn. Now there is no turning back!
一辆红色敞蓬车穿过萨尔塔盐田壮观的白色地平线，靠波利维亚这一端,树海读书阁，黎耀辉与何宝荣极为享受向南的旅行。9月23日（春分）他们穿过南回归线,树海读书阁，一去不回头,树海读书阁！
Their sex that night is abrupt and vcilent. They part in the morning. Leslie is in tears. Cut to Buenos Aires. Leslie is distraught,but hesitant to throw himself from the La Boca bridge.
当晚的缠绵激动而猛烈。早上分手。何宝荣独自饮泣。切到布宜诺斯艾利斯,铭华读书阁。何宝荣心力憔悴，犹豫着是否跳下博卡桥。
Tony gets off a bus in La Boca. He holes up in the Hotel Rivera and plays at love and odd jobs. A good fight is as welcome as a good fuсk. His self-respect is drowning in each next drink he takes.
黎耀辉在博卡下车。他栖身于里维拉旅馆，纵情于声色，游戏于工作。大打一场或放浪一夜同样诱人。沉沦买醉，放逐，堕落。
Leslie works in a gay Tango Bar. Dancing and tricking the night away without reflection or remorse. He plays hard to get when Tony crosses his path again,but softens to his loneliness. He steals a ROLEX and then a passport from one of his tricks. The pawn money will pay for Tony’s ticket home.
何宝荣在一家同志探戈酒吧工作,孔子读书阁。舞曲玩浪逐夜色，无悔无怨。但凡黎耀辉过处，他故作疏远，但无法抵抗寂寞,树海读书阁。他骗得一只劳力士表和一本护照，当了钱买了黎耀辉回去的票。
His hands crushed by the angry trick, Leslie retreats to the Hotel Rivera where Tony nurses him. Leslie betrays what starts to look too much like love by running off with a cheap Milonga pimp.
骗术败露，何宝荣手被打伤，回到里维拉旅馆受黎耀辉照料。真爱隐现的时刻，何宝荣背叛了，跟一个游荡的皮条舞男跑了。
Back in the north at a Bolivian border town. Wild,colorfull lights pattern the ceiling and walls. Leslie,stoned stares through the waterfall lamp at the tacky predicament he has fallen into. His Milonga trick has passed out,or else OD’d?
北方，玻利维亚边境小镇。支离光影漫布在天花和墙面,华闻读书阁。何宝荣死死盯着瀑布灯，还有对面自己的困境：他的舞男新欢好像已经昏死过去了，或着是吸毒过量？
Leslie flees once more. Without forgetting the oneounce stash of coke.
何宝荣再次逃亡。还不忘藏走最后一盎司毒品。
No ROLEX to bail him out anymore,Tony agrees to rendezvous with Leslie at the Iguazu the Falls.
再没有劳力士来赎他了。黎耀辉答应在伊瓜苏瀑布相会。
